I started playing the snare drum about four years ago, when my youngest son Tom started playing the bagpipes, in order to bond with him. Tom's instructor was none other than our very own P/M Dave McElhiney, which as I noticed has very nice knees when wearing a kilt and soon there after became the love great love of my life.
A few years later Dave and I married, and there were now three musicians in the house; Dave, Tom and I. This inspired my oldest son Jeffery to play the pipes. Jeff learned very quickly, and in watching him, my daughter Kayla decide she also wanted to join in the fun, and decided to try her hand at the tenor drum.

Now that all his siblings where playing in the band, my second oldest son Gabe thought "I can not be out done" so he decided "I'll just strut my stuff and march this whole lot where ever I please," and thus became our D/M.

You can see that being in a pipe band is a family affair at our house, and when people ask me what inspires me to play in the pipe band my reply is, "well when you live with the Pipe Major, Pipe Seargent, Drum Major, little Tommy the crowd pleaser, and Kayla the beat keeper, well.....................
